Indigo Expat, your international health insurance for Morocco
Indigo Expat: Morocco belongs to the list of excluded countries for our international insurance.
According to Article 162 of the Moroccan insurance code, risks located in Morocco, people living in this territory, as well as associated responsibilities, must be covered by insurance contracts taken out with insurance and reinsurance companies approved in Morocco.
This obligation is in force, unless you first obtain the agreement of ACAPS (Autorité de Controle des Assurances et de la Protection Sociale). Currently, the subscription of insurance contracts outside this legal framework is not possible, unless an exemption is granted by ACAPS.
Kingdom of Morocco
Morocco, officially the Kingdom of Morocco, is a country located in the Maghreb of North West Africa. It overlooks the Mediterranean Seaand the Atlantic Ocean. And it has land borders with Algeria and the disputed territory of Western Sahara.
Morocco is a gateway to Africa and a country of dizzying diversity. Here you’ll find epic mountain ranges, ancient cities, sweeping deserts – and warm hospitality.
From Saharan dunes to the peaks of the High Atlas, Morocco could have been tailor-made for travellers. Lyrical landscapes carpet this slice of North Africa like the richly coloured and patterned rugs you’ll lust after in local cooperatives.
