Main parameters to consider for international healthcare coverage’s premiums

In general, one considers especially the following parameters:

  1. experience of the past year,
  2. technical results,
  3. medical inflation.

Experience of past year

Briefly, the experience is good. Basically, we had no particular question or feedback on notice of information and guides. Therefore, we consider that there is no need, at that stage, to review documents and to clarify any point. As a result, we continue to use existing documentation for the period from april 1st 2020 to march 31st 2021

Technical resultats of your international healthcare coverage

Maybe it is too early to have a good overview because the experience is a bit too short. Nevertheless, technical results are good for the moment. Consequently, there is no specific need to increase premiums to balance the risk.

Medical inflation

Across the following reports, one can notice that global medical inflation is between 7,6% and 7,8%. In fact, that means that the Insurer need the same amount of premium than past year + approx. 7,6% increase to pay the same claims. You will certainly underline that medical inflation is not the same in all countries. That is impossible to manage an increase country by country, and this will not be in line with mutualization. For this reason, we manage medical inflation according to our zones of cover.
